Snowshoe outings with the Ayas Mountain Guides : Appreciate the natural beauty of the Ayas valley one snowy step at a time.
Friday December 23: Snowshoeing under the stars
Departure at 17.30pm. Duration about 3 hours, easy level. Rate 40.00 euros per person including the rental of showshoes and poles and a thermos of hot tea brought by the Guide. Minimum 5 participants.
Tuesday December 27th: The tour of Pracharbon
Departure at 9.45am from Pracharbon. Easy loop hike in a beautiful forest at the base of Mount Zerbion with a duration of roughly 3.5 hours. Rate 50.00 euros per person including the rental of snowshoes and poles.
Minimum 4 participants.
Monday January 2nd: Mandrou, the Ru and Barmasc with a traditional Aosta Valley lunch.
Departure at 10am from Mandrou. Medium-easy level excursion of about 5 hours including a stop at a traditional restaurant. Rate 50.00 euros per person including the rental of snowshoes and poles.
Minimum 4 participants.
Included in the rate: Mountain Guide accompaniment, rental of snowshoes and poles, thermos of hot tea.
Not included in the price: meals, possible rental of the safety kit.

Grand Tournalin Hut (2635m)
Grand Tournalin Hut (2635m)
You start from Saint Jacques des Allemands (1680 m) and after crossing woods you climb to the uncontaminated Nana Valley and you arrive at the Grand Tournalin Hut at 2635m (about 4 hours). This is the perfect itinerary to check your fitness into a nice winter environment.

A climb definitely worth trying, for the beauty of the environment and for the remarkable panorama that you can admire from the top … Zerbion, Grand Tournalin, all the famous peaks of Monte Rosa, Testa Grigia, Corno Bianco, and in some days of good weather Tersiva and Emilius. It is a god itinerary to conquer a top but fairly easy.

Lochien Lake
Lochien Lake
Small Alpine lake from where you can admire a beautiful view of the Monte Rosa. Departure from Barmasc or Mandrou (1707m), the first parto of the itinerary follows the Ru Courtot then a very nice path on a wide forest to reach the lake (2234 m). Downhill in the Nana Valley and return to Barmasc or Mandrou.

This itinerary, departing from Barmasc (1885m), is suitable for everyone, young and old, as it has no difficulty. The walk follows a part of the ancient canal, built in medieval times, with the aim of bringing ice water to the lands of Saint Vincent

A walk under the stars
Easy itinerary of a few hours, suitable for children, to discover together the most impressive places of the Ayas Valley during the night, accompanied by the moon or the headlamp lights. It is possible to organize the hiking with a traditional dinner into one of our mountain huts.

Two days on Walser trails
Two days on Walser trails
This tour starting from Champoluc, is suitable for everyone, young and old, as there is no difficulty. The walk runs along a part of the “Grande sentier Walser”; a trail that joins the Walser culture and represents an idea of how the mountain was in the past and what it meant to live there.
Program:
- Day 1: Champoluc (1568m) – Mascognaz (1800m) – Crest (1932m). The tour starts at the square in front of the Champoluc church and after a pleasant walk through woods, you reach the village of Mascognaz (1800m) about 50mins. You continue on a largely flat trak and you reach the village of Crest (1932m) 1 hour and 15 mins. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at the Vieux Crest Refuge.
- Day 2: Crest (1932m) – Rifugio Ferraro (2066m) – Champoluc (1568m). On the following day, the walk continues visiting the villages of Soussun (1976m), Fiery (1878m), and Resy (2066m), 3 hours and 30 minutes. After having lunch at the Rifugio Ferraro in Resy, you descend to Saint Jacques (1689m) and return to Champoluc with the shuttle.
